Last Monday was Bastille Day, and what better way to celebrate than to be at the 10th Annual Battle of the Metal Chefs at the House of Blues, in Chicago. The night featured Chef Michael Pivoney from the Mid-America Club, Chef Greg Carso from The Metropolitan Club, and HOB’s very own Chef John Hughes from Foundation Room, and appropriately, the surprise ingredient was brie. What was even more exciting was that Iron Chef America and Top Chef Duels star Chef Takashi Yagihashi of the Slurping Turtle and Takashi special chef was there to judge.

While the 3 chefs and their team of assistants were given 60 minutes on the clock for the Live Culinary Battle, the event goers were treated to French Champagne and Spirits provided by Moet & Hennessey and Glunz Beverage, in honor of Bastille Day. Tickets to the event also included heavy hors d’oeuvres, Chef’s samplings, two drink tickets, and live music provided by DJ Sean O and Jovia Armstrong. And if that wasn’t enough, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa was on site providing makeovers.

In the end, Chef Greg Carso of The Metropolitan Club was named Metal Chef 2014, making this his third Metal Chef win in a row!
