-[Eat]- Iron Works BBQ, Austin
When it comes to BBQ in Texas, the list is endless. For any BBQ, specifically in Austin, I can imagine it being difficult to stick out, but get a convenient location and crowds come flocking. This is where Iron Works BBQ comes in… located in between the city’s popular Rainey Street and in the downtown area, you can’t help but pass up the delicious BBQ smell, especially if you’re in town for SXSW.
Another benefiting factor with Iron Works is use of their variety of seasonings, and unique BBQ sauce, all conveniently marketed and for sale as you wait in line to eat. If you really want to try all they have, you can order their “Iron Works Sampler Plate” containing sliced brisket, beef ribs, and sausage, topped with their award winning BBQ sauce (a choice of regular or spicy). A combination you can’t go wrong with. Wash it all down with their assortment or local beverages and beer and you’re good to go!
Going further, they aren’t only known for their delicious meats, but for their sides as well. I had the delight to try their cobbed corn and mac n’cheese, both highly recommended. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can also choose between their salad bar, beans or fries. And if you manage to have room for dessert, their pies and cobblers looked very tempting.
Lastly, you can purchase their sauce and seasonings on their site wherever you are.
